On Nov. 26, 2021, TÜV SÜD held the opening ceremony of its new Guangzhou Testing Center in Panyu Innovation Park, Guangzhou.
Mr. Dirk von Wahl, CEO of TÜV SÜD North Asia addressed the event via video. Guests including Mr. Jan Kühn-von Burgsdorff, Acting Consul General of German Consulate General in Guangzhou, Mr. Martin Klose, Executive Director and Board Member of German Chamber of Commerce in China - South & Southwest China and Ms. Francine Hadjisotiriou, General Manager of European Chamber in South China were present and gave speeches.
TÜV SÜD aims to build the testing center into an internationally leading public testing service platform to meet the R&D testing, quality evaluation and export certification needs of new energy vehicle companies, power battery and battery component manufacturers, industrial product R&D and production companies, medical device companies and the like in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and even the whole country. The testing center will fully improve the product quality and safety of China’s strategic emerging industries and enhance Chinese companies’ competitive advantages in domestic and overseas markets.
TÜV SÜD Guangzhou Testing Center covers a total gross floor area of 15,000+ square meters. Its New Energy Vehicle Power Battery Lab, Electromagnetic Compatibility Lab, Industrial Products Lab, Smart Energy Lab, Medical Device Lab and Hardlines Lab have been accredited by most regions of the world. The labs offer technical services on new energy vehicle power batteries, key components and vehicle testing, EMC, photovoltaic and energy storage systems, industrial machinery, industrial automation, industry 4.0, industrial IoT, medical equipment, light industrial products, etc.
The six labs are equipped with advanced testing equipment and experienced testing personnel. Specifically, New Energy Vehicle Power Battery Lab can provide testing and certification services for today’s most advanced energy storage devices and systems, including power batteries, energy storage batteries and other electric vehicle parts. With extensive testing experience and its ten battery labs globally, TÜV SÜD is committed to helping customers develop electric vehicle batteries suitable for target markets which not only meet international safety standards and regulatory requirements, but also embrace improved performance. Electromagnetic Compatibility Lab boasts high-voltage and high-current testing capabilities. It offers EMC testing on automotive electronics, rail transit, photovoltaic products, industrial machinery, consumer electronics, functional safety, etc., with a test power at DC 1,500V/800A and AC 690V/1,000A. Industrial Products Lab renders testing services for manufacturing equipment and products in such industries as new energy, smart manufacturing and electric transportation. Its charging pile testing system can test the EVCC and SECC of electric vehicles and charging piles, and supports complete communication protocol conformance and interoperability tests by national, European and American standards.
Smart Energy Lab is the first lab in China to obtain DAkkS accreditation. It also has German medium- and high-voltage grid test (FGW TR3) and simulation model validation (FGW TR4) qualifications. The lab is committed to providing safe, efficient, intelligent, interconnected and reliable test solutions that meet the regulations and standards of different countries. Medical Device Lab offers companies with one-stop medical device testing and certification solutions, so that their products can pass comprehensive medical device reviews and obtain proofs of compliance with standards and regulations around the world. Hardlines Lab provides professional testing, certification and training services for furniture products, children’s products, kitchenware, tableware, sports and fitness products, sanitary products, etc. It helps companies in the whole industry chain ensure quality and safety, thus obtaining a high degree of market recognition.
