The EU's new Battery Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2023/1542) will replace the Battery Act (BattG), which has been in place since 2006, and create new requirements for the battery market. This battery regulation will regulate the entire life cycle of batteries. It will set mandatory requirements for sustainability (e.g. carbon footprint rules, minimum recycled content criteria, performance and durability criteria), safety and labelling for placing on the market and putting batteries into service, and end-of-life requirements. The regulation will also introduce due diligence requirements for economic operators involved in the procurement of raw materials. In this seminar, we will give you an overview of the new battery regulation and show you how to implement the new requirements in practice. The focus of this training is on traction batteries (drive batteries).
