IEC 62368-1: Applying a Hazard-Based Approach to Working with IT and AV Equipment
This comprehensive course explains the requirements of the safety standard and regulations for information technology and audio-visual equipment, with a view to legal compliance in Europe and around the world. By attending this course, you will learn how to engineer products with compliance built in, what tests are required and how to pass them.
Students will gain the knowledge to ensure that their product design and technical documentation meets required safety legislation and test standard. You will gain a practical understanding of the principles of safety, and know how to apply the tests and requirements of safety standards, from initial concept to finished product.
Who Should Attend?
This course is recommended for product designers, compliance technicians and engineers, and anyone working on the electrical and mechanical design of electronic and electrical products.
A basic level of electrical and electronic knowledge is required before attending the course.
The modules on the first day are shared with delegates attending the “Managing Safety for IEC 62368-1” course. There is no need to attend both courses to cover the topics on safety management.

Methodology
Instructor-led training in a virtual classroom. This means the course is Live Online. Participants will learn through online teaching. Lectures, case studies, group exercises, discussions, problem solving, examples with explanation, assignments and/or quizzes happen in the virtual classroom training. Participants need to connect to the class from any internet accessible location. Each module is delivered live using webinar technology, creating a virtual classroom learning environment. Live sessions provide you with direct access to the trainer so you can ask questions, understand complex concepts and share ideas with peers. Webcam and microphone are REQUIRED to interact with the instructor and/or other participants.
