Scope:

This certification mark applies to AC mains powered outdoor luminaires with replaceable, selfballasted LED lamps for general lighting purposes and battery/solar powered outdoor luminaires with integrated LED modules.

Basis of certification:

This voluntary TÜV SÜD certification mark for products demonstrates that the product has been tested and certified by the third-party organisation TÜV SÜD. The certification mark is only awarded to products that undergo inspection by TÜV SÜD Product Service and comply with the criteria quoted below.

Keywords of the certification mark

  • Energy efficiency
    In the scope of the energy efficiency testing basic tests are carried out on the product. Products that carry this certification mark have achieved a total mains efficacy of 160 lm/W or higher according to annex II of (EU) 2019/2015.
  • Light duration
    As part of this test, battery and solar-powered products are examined and evaluated for their maximum lighting duration.
  • Low flicker
    As part of the flicker testing, the products are examined for their light stability in order to prevent unpleasant visual effects and premature eye fatigue.
  • Safety tested

    Another focus in addition to product quality is product safety. Product safety is verified in safety tests carried out by TÜV SÜD. The statement “Safety tested” on the bottom of the octagon indicates that the product was tested and certified by the independent third-party organisation of TÜV SÜD Product Service for conformity with the essential technical safety requirements.
