Custody Transfer Metering

Webinar

Webinar

Custody transfer occurs when ownership of a fluid such as oil and gas passes from one company to another. When metering the flow of hydrocarbons, a high degree of accuracy is required to minimise the uncertainty of measurement. This cannot be achieved by a single meter alone. Measurement to this high accuracy is undertaken by complex metering systems and each component has an important part to play in the overall measurement of flow.

This webinar will provide a brief description of the measurements involved in the custody transfer of fluids and will explore the instruments that typically form part of a custody transfer metering system. The measurement of fluid quantities such as temperature, static and differential pressure, density, and composition will be explored, and their contribution to the overall measurement of flow.

FOCUS TOPICS

  • Custody transfer
