Why download the Report?

This study on the safety of critical infrastructure was commissioned by Lloyd’s Register Foundation and conducted by TÜV SÜD including a team of academics from the University of Cambridge.

It addresses questions including:

  • What is the state of current practice for the management and maintenance of infrastructure to enable a safe outcome for society?
  • What does future safety practice need to look like for the management and maintenance of infrastructure?
  • What gaps are there in the provision of safe infrastructure for society and what opportunities are there to apply existing techniques from within and external to the sector?
  • What evidence is there for the effectiveness of existing and future practice for the management and maintenance of infrastructure?

The report will be of interest to anyone involved in infrastructure management and maintenance, particularly relating to energy and transport. You will find information about the approach to conducting the study, research findings and industry evidence and insights.
