The European Commission published the Delegated Regulation 2022/30, enforcing cybersecurity requirements. This regulation requires wireless devices connected to the internet to comply with Articles 3(3)(d), (e) and (f) of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU.

The regulation entered into force in January 2022 and will apply to product(s) placed in EU market from 1 August 2025. Manufacturers or brands importing wireless products connected to the internet into Europe will have to comply with the cybersecurity requirements. Here are 5 key points you should take note of the new cybersecurity requirements for RED.
