Heinsberg House is owned and managed by Places for People. The property offers services that have been designed to help older people to live in their home for as long as possible, safely and with an improved quality of life.

TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman were appointed to provide design and support services for a project that involved the removal of an existing hydraulic lift and installation of a new Machine Room Less (MRL) lift that meets current standards and state of the art for safety and performance.

A fundamental objective of the project was to provide a design and features that are helpful and less stressful to users with dementia.

The client was closely involved in the selection of finishes and the overall lift car design which resulted in the introduction of high quality, low glare lighting, high visibility handrails, push buttons and indicators and low reflective surfaces which results in a more pleasant experience for users.  Additional high visibility door protection devices also offer improved levels of safety.

TÜV SÜD Dunbar Boardman have been appointed by Places for People for multiple lift modernisation and replacement projects such as Heinsberg House and continue to work closely with Places for People on many more complex projects involving high rise fire fighters lifts and maintenance management support services.

TÜV SÜD Industrial Services GMBH were also responsible for the safety certification and EC Conformity Assessment of the door safety components used on this project.
