Updated guidance regarding CE acceptance

On October 3rd, 2023, the UK government, through the Department for Business and Trade, provided updated guidance regarding the ongoing acceptance of CE marked products for the UK market. If a product manufacturer is only following EU harmonised standards, additional checks may be required to allow the product to be placed on the UK marketplace. Following the October 3rd announcement, notification of proposed updates to designated standards was received which includes restrictions Designated standards: new or amended notices of publication. Manufacturers will need to review designated standards lists regularly to determine whether designated and harmonised standards are the same or not.
