Implementing Regulation for the Marine Equipment Directive

The 8th Implementing Regulation for the Marine Equipment Directive 2014/90/EU was published in the Official Journal of the EU on 26th July 2024 and can be downloaded from the following location:

Please be advised that the Implementing Regulation (EU)2024/1975 will replace (EU)2023/1667 with effect from 4th September 2024.  

Where you hold current Module B Type Approval, we would advise that you check the new Implementing Regulation for any changes to the requirements for those products taking into account Column 5 (Date for placing on the market) and Column 6 (Date for placing on board) where applicable.

Declarations of Conformity (DofC) for products with current Type Approval should be updated to reference the new Implementing Regulation, (EU)2024/1975, for products manufactured after 4 September 2024 unless there is a change to the compliance status.  Copies of updated DofCs should be supplied to each Notified Body involved in the wheel marking process (Module B NB plus Module D/E/F NB if not the same for both modules).

Module B Type Approval certificates issued from 4th September onwards must comply with the standards listed within this regulation.
