We’re pleased to announce that Colin Lightbody, Principal Consultant at TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory, has taken over as chair of the Global Flow Measurement Workshop (GFMW) in Scotland which is organised by TÜV SÜD. Colin sat on the GFMW technical committee in 2022 and has worked for over 30 years in the metrology industry. During his career, he’s contributed to the development of several ISO metering standards for Coriolis and ultrasonic flow metering. He’s also written conference papers, been involved with several flow measurement research & development projects, and been awarded a patent for a flow meter verification technique.
Colin is excited about his new role:
“I’m honoured and delighted to take on the role of chair and would like to thank the outgoing chair, Bruno Pinguet, for his dedication over the years and for helping to make the event such a success. I hope I can live up to the standard of previous chairs like Bruno, Craig Marshall and Richard Paton. This year's event takes place in Norway, but we’re also already starting to prepare for the 2024 event in Scotland. With both upcoming events we aim to build on the improvements made last year with the inclusion of topics focused on technical innovation in flow measurement on the road to net zero.”
