The European Union is embedding ecodesign at the centre of its circular economy strategy through the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Together, these regulations introduce binding, performance-based requirements that will progressively reshape how products and packaging are designed, documented and placed on the EU market.
The ESPR establishes a horizontal framework addressing durability, reparability, recyclability, recycled content, material efficiency and digital product information, including the forthcoming Digital Product Passport. The PPWR complements this framework by defining harmonized recyclability and design-for-circularity obligations starting in 2026.
As a result, ecodesign is transitioning from a voluntary sustainability concept to a regulatory requirement with direct implications for product development, supply chain data management, technical documentation and conformity assessment strategies.
In this webinar, TÜV SÜD experts will present:
Join us to gain a clear understanding of regulatory expectations and practical guidance for aligning your products and packaging with evolving EU circularity requirements.
