Developing Metrology - From the NMI to Industry

Online h 10:30 BST

We invite you to join our webinar to celebrate World Metrology Day 2026.

This year’s theme, "Metrology: Building Trust in Policy Making", highlights the role metrology and National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) play in providing scientific evidence and legal frameworks that policy makers can use to make informed, transparent and enforceable decisions.

As the UK’s Designated Institute for Flow Measurement, and the oldest UKAS accredited lab, TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory has been at the forefront of research and development of flow measurement standards with many of our current and past employees sitting on standards committees. In this webinar, Colin Lightbody will be joined by Al Laughton, Principal Measurement Engineer – bp, and Alix Mann, Metering & HCA Lead - Shell UK and Dr Marco Geron, Head of Flow Programme - TÜV SÜD, to discuss standards development and how they are put into practice in industry.

Do you have a question or a topic that you would like the panel to discuss? Register early and submit your question on the registration form.
