Alan Downing - Solartron ISA - Sales & Marketing Director
Alan Downing has worked at Solartron ISA for over 25 years, originally in the engineering team, before transitioning to sales in the early 90’s. This move coincided with the developments of marginal fields in the UK North Sea and the “new” requirement to allocate wet gas. His close involvement in early applications led to being appointed product & marketing manager, contributing to the development and supply of Solartron ISA’s wellhead flow metering products around the world.
He has been sales director since 2008 and remains actively involved in the continued evolution of multiphase, wet gas and subsea products.
Harald Drejer, Metering Responsible, Norske Shell
Harald Drejer was introduced to metering when he started in FMC Kongsberg Metering in 2009, working at the gas plant Nyhamna in Norway. After 2.5 years he joined Shell where he was metering engineer until 2013 before assuming his current role as metering responsible for Norske Shell’s activity in Norway, both operated and non-operated metering support.
He is an active contributor in the metering community. As well as being a member of NFOGM, he was the Chair of the 2025 Global Flow Measurement Workshop and has been a consistent attendee at NSFMW/GFMW events.
Craig Marshall, Director, Friction Flow Measurement
Craig Marshall has been working in flow measurement since 2009 with roles including flow measurement engineer, consultant, product development director before founding a start-up company.
Craig has specialist knowledge in all aspects of flow measurement including system and product design, measurement technology, flow measurement standards and uncertainty.
He leads Friction Flow Measurement with the aim of bringing new and innovative flow and physical property products to market.
Thomas Murray, Metering Engineer, Bumi Armada
Tom Murray has a BSc in Technology and Business from the Robert Gordon University and began his career as a Graduate Metering Engineer with Metco (now Emerson) working across different client groups and gaining experience of working offshore and working on hydrocarbon accounting.
He has worked as metering contract focal point and metering department team lead at Petrofac; metering & allocation audit assurance and commercial advisor - hydrogen at Shell; and now works for Bumi Armada as a metering engineer with responsibility for the Kraken FPSO measurement systems.
Borge Olafsen, Technical Authority Metering Engineer, AkerBP
Borge Olafsen began his career at Halliburton doing exploration well testing and data acquisition after qualifying as a process technology engineer at the University of Norway.
After moving to Intertek he became the metering responsible for Alvheim FPSO, Volve FSU and Navion Saga FSO.
He has retained the position of metering responsible for Alvheim FPSO at Marathon Oil, Det Norske oil company, and Aker BP, in addition to other assets in the portfolio.
