During a recent interview Simon discusses the compliance requirements for radio products, covering various topics such as; what requirements you are likely to face, regulatory frameworks, considerations for products with RF modules and the importance of selecting the right module manufacturer.
With less than six months to go until EN 300 328 V2.2.2 comes into force, manufacturers of existing and new product utilising 2.4 GHz Digital Modulation Systems are advised to check that their compliance it up to date. The changes from V2.1.1 to V2.2.2 will required action; if you have chipset implementation then you will need to revisit the receiver blocking requirements and if you have installed a module and utilise the module manufacturers documentation in your technical file then you will need to make sure that it is up to date.
To help support module manufactures and final product manufacturers integrating Radio modules, TÜV SÜD have engineered an automated test system capable of performing testing in accordance with ETSI EN 300 328 and ETSI EN 301 893 under the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) for CE marking and Radio Equipment Regulation for UKCA marking.
