USA: ASTM F2601 Standard Specification for Fire Safety for Candle Accessories updated to edition 2018

On 27 April 2018, ASTM released a revision of F2601-181 - Standard Specification for Fire Safety for Candle Accessories replacing its previous edition F2601-16a.
In this revision, there are a lot of editorial changes about the renumbering of sub-sections due to restructuring of tests and new sections added. Moreover, there are also technical changes in the requirements and test methods.
Below list highlights the key changes in the requirements and test methods:
- Added a few of new definitions, such as food warmer, barrier technology, burn cycle, and flame height in 3.2.5, 3.3.1, 3.3.2, and 3.3.6 respectively;
- Section 4.1 is now called Safety Requirement for Flammability, which covers all safety requirements of candle accessories including i) candle rings and ii) candle holders, shades and toppers, respectively in sections 4.1 and 4.2 of the previous -16a version;
- Section 6 now covers all requirements related to warning and labelling. In the -16a version, they are scattered in 4.3.2.1, 4.3.2.2 and 5.4.3.1;
- Test method of tealight and taper candle holder performance (section 5.4) is now separated from test method of candle burners performance in section 5.3.
