Press tooling for M20, M50 and S50 high pressure DSC crucibles

M20, M50 and S50 crucibles are closed by means of a press, usually a toggle press. The press used must be fitted with a punch and a die to locate the crucible in the press and close it. We can supply this equipment which is adapted for the Schmidt 11F press. It can be used for the M20, M50 and S50 crucibles.

FAQ Crucibles M20

Q: What is the minimal ordering amount?
A: The crucibles are packed in units of 100 pieces. Other units upon request.

Q: What is the delivery time?
A: We have the crucibles on stock. Usually we handle your order within 3-5 working days.

Q: Is it possible to reuse these crucibles?
A: No, these are one-way-crucibles. We do not recommend trying to open them after analysis.

Q: Are the crucibles compatible with my apparatus?
A: These crucibles are compatible with most DSC-instruments. It is sometimes necessary to obtain a software add-on (for example, to work with an auto-sampler).

Q: Where can I find the parameters of these crucibles (time constant, dimensions, …)?
A: We recommend determining by yourself the time constant of these crucibles. We can give you advice if you need. Other information can be found in the datasheet of the crucible.

Q: I have worked with the old crucibles until now (S50). Do I need a new press to close these new crucibles M20?
A: No, you just need to set it correctly. If you want to work with both crucibles, we can provide you with an adaptor (compensation disk).

Q: Is it possible to test these new crucibles first?
A: Please send us a short email via our contact form or [email protected].

Q: I am convinced, what do I need to be able to close these crucibles?
A: You need a toggle press, for example the model 11F of Schmidt Technology. Additionally, you would need a plunger and a die (we can provide you with those tools).

Q: Is it possible to heat the crucibles to 500°C?
A: The crucibles are tested up to 400°C and 200 bar. We recommend staying within these temperatures and pressure ranges.

Q: Is it possible to buy all-steel-crucibles (without gold coating)?
A: We have developed a steel version of the M20. Please have a look at the crucible F20.
