Tell us about yourself

I have a master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering (Technical University of Turin) and a PhD in Aerospace Engineering (Technical University of Turin in cooperation with the EU Joint Research Center and an aerospace company).

My first job in 1996 was for an engineering company working for Integrated Logistics Support in the aerospace sector. In 1998, I moved to a machinery manufacturing company where I was initially in charge of the aftersales dept. and then of the manufacturing department with approx. 50 people in my team.

I’ve been working for TÜV SÜD as a Functional Safety assessor since 2004. My main duties are inspection of products/systems, project and portfolio management, team supervision and working as a trainer for our functional safety training courses.

Why did you choose to join TÜV SÜD?

TÜV SÜD offered me more challenges and opportunities closer to my field of expertise which is Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).

Where do you work?

I’m based in Volpiano, Italy

What are your main areas of expertise?

RAMS and cybersecurity, mainly in the railway and machinery domains.

What does your role involve?

As a Business Unit Manager and Operations Manager, I am responsible both for the technical work within the department and for the management of resources and the overall running of the department. I’m also directly involved in the assessment projects, mainly in a supervision/review role. I also deliver functional safety training for TÜV SÜD Academy.

What most interests you about your role?

Variety of projects and international approach.

What exciting developments have you seen at TÜV SÜD since you started?

Stronger synergies among the legal entities in various countries, improving the level of support we can provide to our customers.

What future trends do you see developing in your area of work?

Integration of safety and security is going to be a major challenge and opportunity.

What is your biggest challenge?

Ensuring efficient and effective work on a variety of projects, with different technical requirements and a very dynamic planning.

What do you see as the top perk of working for TÜV SÜD?

Working as a part of an international team, combining different cultures, points of view, and expectations.

Over the last 20 years, I’ve been given the opportunity to grow and develop my skills in roles of increasing complexity and responsibility.
