Tell us about yourself

I’m originally from Galicia, Northern Spain, a region on the west coast. I studied Law in A Coruña and started my career working for an insurance office and moved into online banking and other financial services.

Moving to the UK gave me the chance to work in an international environment in compliance for a pharmaceutical company in Oxford and later for an electronics business in Aylesbury. In 2023, I joined the Global Market Access (GMA) solutions team at TÜV SÜD.

Also, the GMA project is the perfect fit for me to bring my experience and expertise gathered on my previous roles.

Where do you work?

I work mainly from home.

What are your main areas of expertise?

My area of expertise is global market access, particularly global requirements for devices with wireless technologies and safety schemes.

What does your role involve?

My main responsibility is helping manufacturers to import and sell their products worldwide by obtaining the relevant RF and safety certifications.

We also conduct research projects working collaboratively with local authorities, agents and labs to get the required information in different areas of compliance for electronic devices.

We monitor the latest news and regulations regarding GMA in different countries to be aware of the latest trends and updates and run a global market access (GMA) blog to help ensure manufacturers are aware of important info.

What most interests you about your role?

I am very excited to work with a large team of experts in the field of radio frequency (RF) and safety certification and other areas of expertise. It is a great opportunity to learn and grow my own knowledge and be able to better help our clients.

What exciting developments have you seen at TÜV SÜD since you started?

I only started recently but already I can see all the plans the GMA team has for the near future and globally over the next few years.

What future trends do you see developing in your area of work?

The implementation of cybersecurity requirements worldwide and the increased awareness of manufacturers regarding their plans to import and sell their products in different parts of the world.

What is your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge is contributing to the development of a one-stop solution for manufacturers to gather all the required certifications for their products in one place.

What do you see as the top perk of working for TÜV SÜD?

So far, I have seen many perks working for TÜV SÜD from a friendly, supportive team to the flexibility of remote working.

How have TÜV SÜD supported you?

TÜV SÜD has provided me with all the equipment and training required to work remotely. My team colleagues and managers are very helpful and I’ve received lots of information about internal processes, perks, and employee support.
