Brazil: ANATEL Issues Resolution No. 780, Clarifying Telecommunications Product Certification Procedures

On August 1, 2025, the National Telecommunications Agency of Brazil (ANATEL) published Resolution No. 780, providing important clarifications regarding the certification process for telecommunications products in Brazil. This new resolution supplements Resolution No. 715, ANATEL’s main certification regulation, and covers topics such as marketplace obligations and liabilities, general rules for ANATEL label usage, and the application of the Consumer Protection Code. The resolution also confirms that data centers forming part of telecommunications networks will require mandatory ANATEL approval.
