Carbon Footprint Verification

Carbon Footprint Certification

TÜV SÜD’s carbon footprint verification offers you and your stakeholders transparency regarding your greenhouse gas emissions

TÜV SÜD’s carbon footprint verification offers you and your stakeholders transparency regarding your greenhouse gas emissions

Why a carbon footprint should be verified

Companies are increasingly being judged based on their sustainable actions by business partners, investors, analysts, the media, and consumers. A sense of responsibility and dedication to climate protection is expected. Companies can use a carbon footprint inventory to determine their climate-relevant emissions. It then serves as a decision-making basis for developing climate protection targets and charting a strategic route. Is that, however, sufficient? Only when a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) balance has been independently verified it becomes genuinely reliable and can be shared in a meaningful way.

Why should you choose TÜV SÜD as a provider for your carbon footprint verification?

The Verification Body for Greenhouse Gases of TÜV SÜD provides verification and validation services since the beginning of the European Union Emission Trading System in 2005. With a market share of over 15% of all verified stationary plants in almost every industry, TÜV SÜD is the largest Verification Body in Germany. We are accredited according to ISO 14065 for the verification and validation of quantification, monitoring and reporting of Greenhouse Gases, which includes Corporate Carbon Footprints and Emission Reduction projects. The verification process follows the ISO 14064-3 and is subject to high requirements, which ensures a professional and reliable revision of your GHG reporting.

You benefit from the following advantages with TÜV SÜD:

  • Increased ecologic integrity of your Carbon Footprint by complying with recognized standards.
  • Improved credibility, consistency und transparency of the quantification, monitoring and reporting of your GHG.
  • Creating a reliable basis for developing and improving monitoring systems for tracking GHG-emissions.
  • Enabling the development and implementation of emission reduction and decarbonization strategies.

  • Impartiality Statement

TÜV SÜD Thailand realizes that impartiality is critical to the credibility of the work that it performs and the need to ensure that decisions are made based on objective criteria. To safeguard impartiality in its client engagements, including its validation and verification (V&V) activities, TÜV SÜD Thailand has established a procedure to evaluate risks to impartiality and potential conflicts-of-interest (COI). As part of client pre-engagement activities, TÜV SÜD Thailand conducts a thorough review to identify risks to impartiality and potential COIs through the completion of an internal COI test. If risks are identified, TÜV SÜD Thailand assesses the level of risk associated with the potential threat. Risks are classified as low, medium, or high. High-risk engagements are not pursued. Medium risk engagements are further evaluated to determine how TÜV SÜD Thailand is able to effectively mitigate or avoid the risk. Furthermore, TÜV SÜD Thailand requires all V&V team members to attest to impartiality by reviewing each specific project for any potential COIs.

In addition to protecting impartiality, TÜV SÜD Thailand ensures the objectivity of its V&V activities through adherence to engineering principles and the application of auditing and V&V best practices, including reliance upon evidence in the development of opinions regarding GHG statements.
