TÜV SÜD holds 2024 Cybersecurity Summit in Shenzhen
23 May 2024
For the fourth consecutive year, TÜV SÜD hosted its 2024 Cybersecurity Summit in Shenzhen. Leaders from various industries including consumer products, automotive, transportation, industrial products and processing had the opportunity to listen to case studies and academic discussions, and to discover cutting-edge technologies. TÜV SÜD representatives and speakers from Shenzhen Future Intelligent Connected Transportation System Industry Innovation Centre, AWS, Tuya, Schneider Electric, and EZVIZ gave valuable insights in how enterprises can establish sustainable cybersecurity for their businesses. Focus topics addressed ways of establishing cybersecurity for IoT products, safe and secure future mobility, and data security and cybersecurity in the age of AI.
In his opening speech, Dirk von Wahl, TÜV SÜD CEO North Asia, pointed out that new vulnerabilities and attack technologies are constantly emerging. Protecting the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information during the assessment and certification process is crucial for maintaining stakeholder trust. TÜV SÜD keeps up with the pace of developments, navigates the evolving landscape of cybersecurity regulations and ensures compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Sudhir Ethiraj, TÜV SÜD’s Global Head of Cybersecurity Office and Global BU Head of Cybersecurity Services within the Division Business Assurance, warned that companies cannot simply rely on the basic security level delivered by tools. Organisations need to set up an “A-team” of cybersecurity players, identify the top risks and plan for extensive mitigation measures. The entire organisation needs to be included in cybersecurity exercises. Involvement in cross-company initiatives helps to gain insights in the latest cybersecurity threats.
TÜV SÜD specialises in cybersecurity advisory, assessment, training, audit, and certification services.
