“My experience at TÜV SÜD has been an enjoyable and enriching one, where I was attached to the Green Compass project - a sustainability maturity assessment tool and framework. I was given the opportunity to substantiate training materials and sit in for the training workshops conducted for various industries, which provided me with insightful exposure on the current outlook of Singapore’s sustainability scene. Being able to hear first-hand about the concerns faced by companies was something I truly valued and appreciated as such opportunities hardly come by in academic settings.   I am grateful to have worked with approachable and supportive colleagues which enhanced my learning experience, kept me motivated, and made it easy for me to adapt to my role quickly. The quarterly department bonding events were a fantastic way to connect with more colleagues outside of my team and were a positive addition to my internship experience. Overall, my 6 months spent at TÜV SÜD was memorable and has contributed significantly to both my professional and personal growth.”

“I had a very memorable internship experience at TÜV SÜD as a Sales intern for Food, Health and Beauty. During my internship, I learned to step out of my comfort zone and adopt a growth mindset. The Sales team guided me well and would always lend me a helping hand when I had difficulties with work.   My supervisor was supportive and gave me the opportunity to work on a project to gain better understanding of the Testing, Inspection and Certification industry. Through my interactions with clients and market research to identify new market opportunities for growth in Singapore, I have gained valuable experiences that helped to develop my skills and knowledge. The exposure that I had during my internship allowed me to reflect on my strengths and weaknesses and thus better understanding of my own abilities. “The six months I had spent as an intern with the Sustainable and Sanitation Services team were thrilling, illuminating and served as a fitting start to my journey into the fields of engineering and sustainability.   Through various projects, I developed a greater awareness on TÜV SÜD’s certification process for sanitation technologies, and the rationale behind it by assisting with the development and testing of the Sanitation Readiness Index, which assesses the readiness of non-sewered sanitation systems for ISO 30500 certification. These opportunities allowed me to apply specific concepts I had learnt as part of my coursework. I also managed to sharpen my communication skills by participating in team discussions and delivering presentations.   It has been my privilege to be part of this dynamic team, striving towards the advancement of sustainable sanitation. I would like to thank my supervisor, Chris, and my colleagues for their continued encouragement, expertise and enthusiasm.”

“My internship in the GSM-M MarTech team was a fulfilling one where I saw myself grow professionally and personally. Through the internship, I was exposed to the intricacies that go into managing platforms to support digital marketing at TÜV SÜD. On top of supporting the team's basic functionality, I was given the opportunity to explore ways to redesign processes within the team which sparked my interest in process automation. One of my most important takeaways is design thinking, which I have applied to my school projects to approach problems and challenges in a structured and user-centric, enabling me to stand out in school.   I deeply appreciate the supportive teammates and manager I had. The team values open conversations which allowed me to share my opinions comfortably and I felt valued as a member of the team. The team was also very knowledgeable which gave me insights to how and why the action plans have been customised for different target audience. “I am deeply appreciative and humbled by the ample opportunities that were presented to me throughout my internship. Despite being an intern, my supervisors have constantly motivated me to take charge of key HR projects and initiatives to broaden my skillset and expertise beyond talent acquisition alone. Additionally, they were very receptive to any new suggestions and inputs and reached out to me on a weekly basis to ensure I was coping and learning well. Thus, there was never a time I felt that I was alone, as I knew I could always turn to them whenever I needed help.   It was through the trust and confidence placed in me by my supervisors that I developed a better understanding of the common industry practices and gained the knowledge and skills necessary to become an effective HR practitioner going forward. “I ventured into different job scopes during my time as a Test Engineer Intern. On top of engineering-related tasks, I liaised with testing equipment providers to resolve equipment limitations and guided my intern juniors into the role. My most memorable moment was being given full autonomy to champion process improvement through development of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to significantly expedite the daily task of equipment data analysis. I am grateful to work alongside a supportive team that provided me with generous opportunities for my professional and personal growth. The soft skills learnt, and experience gleaned has been deeply ingrained and will prove to be useful for my future endeavours.”

“It has been a rewarding and memorable journey with TÜV SÜD. Throughout my internship, I was exposed to critical areas of the cybersecurity landscape and taught how to research and compare different cybersecurity policies. The team listened to my inputs on choosing the best tool for conducting Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessments and the team trusted me to perform Cybersecurity testing for key projects. The team was extremely knowledgeable and supportive, ensuring that I got the most out of my time here. This has broadened my cybersecurity knowledge both theoretically and practically, and the experience in engaging with different business lines has geared me for a future career in cybersecurity.“

“This internship has deepened my expertise in human resources. It has been an eye-opening experience to oversee the end-to-end recruitment cycle for internships and traineeships. I also had the opportunity to drive employer branding initiatives such as career fairs, content development and many more. I embarked on my internship amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which made learning on the job more difficult than usual as it had to be done online. However, that did not stop my team from guiding me to the best of their abilities.
