On 16 February 2019, the Official Journal of the French Republic published a notice1 on the application of Decree No. 2016-3642 of March 29th, 2016 fixing the requirements of safety concerning the bicycles. This notice contains the references of the standards which can be used in application of the Decree No. 2016-364. The summary of the standards is in the table as follows;

Products conforming to standards whose references have been published in the Official Journal of the French Republic by the notice of 11 July 2015 may be placed on the market until 13 April 2019 and marketed while supplies last. However, electric-assisted cycles in accordance with NF EN 15194 + A1 (January 2012) can be marketed until April 13, 2020 and marketed while supplies last.
The standards adopted by the national standardization institutes of the Member States of the European Union and of the States Parties to the Agreement establishing the European Economic Area or of Turkey, transposing the corresponding European standards, are recognized as equivalent.
This notice cancels and replaces the notice published in the Official Journal of the French Republic of 14 April 2018 (NOR: ECOI1809916V).
