India: Bureau of Indian Standards extends IS 1293:2019 implementation date to 23 October 2021

OCTOBER 2020 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS

On 15 October 2020, the Bureau of Indian Standard extended the date of implementation of revised IS 1293 : 2019 superseding IS 1293: 2005 for “Plugs and Socket-Outlets for household and similar purposes of rated voltage up to and including 250 V and rated current up to and including 16 A”.

The last date of concurrent running of IS 1293: 2005 and IS 1293 : 2019 has now been extended up to 23 October 2021. Previously as per the latest Gazette of India, dated 18 May 2020, deadline for implementation QCO for IS 1293:2019, which is being brought under mandatory certification of BIS is 1 December 2020.
