KSA: SASO 2970:2019 on street lighting energy efficiency in force from 2020

On March of 2019, Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has approved and adopted the standard of SASO 2927:2019 which is mandatory standard for energy efficiency functionality and labelling requirements for lighting products – Part 3 : street lighting.

This standard covers requirements for street and road lighting applications:

• Classification of street/road lighting - three types of lighting classification (M, C and P)
  
• Tunnel lighting - daylight and nightlight for tunnels
  
• Technical requirements of lighting products.
  

This standard will be implemented from 19 January 2020 (6 months after its publication in the official gazette).
