This training course on hot work fire safety is designed for anyone working in environments where hot work could be performed:

This course will present concepts associated with preventing hot work fires in commercial and industrial properties. Each hot work operation has the potential to present a unique set of challenges, and care must be taken to understand what these challenges are and what actions need can reduce the potential of fire exposure.

The intent of this course is to establish basic considerations to aid you in thinking about potential hazards at your facility relating to hot work operations. It is not intended to address the unique challenges often found in high hazard facilities such as refineries and chemical process plants where hot work standards such as those published by the American Petroleum Institute are more appropriate.

Developing a thoughtful hot work fire safety program increases employee safety and minimizes risk. In this course, we’ll introduce the key elements of a practical hot work fire safety program. You will be able to test your knowledge with brief quizzes at the end of every unit and final exam at the end of the course.

Designed by TÜV SÜD experts, the training will introduce you to a model hot work program and outline guidelines for preparing a job site for hot work, obtaining approval to complete that work, and supervising the job site during and after the job.

Participants will leave this course with a greater appreciation and understanding of the safety concerns associated with hot work. In addition, students will have an increased awareness about how to understand and implement hot work policies and procedures.

This online self-paced digital course employs a variety of training tools such as content-embedded assessment, videos, and other interactive exercises to enhance instructional delivery. Easily accessible via your preferred choice of device, the course allows you to log in and learn whenever, wherever.

This training course is approximately 90 minutes in length, with an exam at the end. Upon passing the online assessment with a score of 75% or better, you will have the options to both print and download as PDF file your personalized TÜV SÜD Academy certificate right from your computer.
