This course will present concepts associated with preventing hot work fires in commercial and industrial properties. Each hot work operation has the potential to present a unique set of challenges, and care must be taken to understand what these challenges are and what actions need can reduce the potential of fire exposure.
The intent of this course is to establish basic considerations to aid you in thinking about potential hazards at your facility relating to hot work operations. It is not intended to address the unique challenges often found in high hazard facilities such as refineries and chemical process plants where hot work standards such as those published by the American Petroleum Institute are more appropriate.
Developing a thoughtful hot work fire safety program increases employee safety and minimizes risk. In this course, we’ll introduce the key elements of a practical hot work fire safety program. You will be able to test your knowledge with brief quizzes at the end of every unit and final exam at the end of the course.
