ABOUT THE COURSE

The purpose of this ISO 14001:2026 Environmental Management System (EMS) Lead Auditor Training Course (PECB) is to provide knowledge and skills required to perform first, second and third-party EMS audits against ISO 14001:2026, in accordance with ISO 19011:2026 as applicable. Capitalising on the powerful Accelerated Learning Technique, this course spends a good portion of the time on discussions, exercises and case studies. It will help the participants consolidate knowledge and acquire hands-on experience that is instrumental in their capacity as an EMS auditor or environmental/sustainability function personnel.

PECB is a leading certification body dedicated to fostering digital trust through comprehensive education, certification, and certificate programs across various disciplines. PECB certifications are validated by top-tier bodies, including the International Accreditation Service (IAS-PCB-111), the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS-No. 21923), and Comité français d’accréditation (COFRAC N° 4-0637) under ISO/IEC 17024 – General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons. Additionally, their certificate programs are validated by the accreditation from the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB-Accreditation ID 1003) under ANSI/ASTM E2659-18, Standard Practice for Certificate Programs.

All participants who successfully pass their 3-hour open book certification exam are entitled to apply for the PECB credentials. Based on PECB policy, this course satisfies the training requirement for certification as a PECB registered EMS Lead Auditor/Auditor.

Evaluate the EMS conformity to ISO 14001 requirements, in accordance with the fundamental audit concepts and principles.
Plan, conduct, and close an ISO 14001 compliance audit, in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1 requirements, ISO 19011 guidelines, and other best practices of auditing.
Manage an ISO 14001 audit program.

WHAT IS THE COURSE METHODOLOGY?

There is a balance between knowledge-based presentations, discussions, exercises, and case studies. About two-thirds of the time, the expert will spend on activity-based learning to discuss a mock examination paper throughout the course to help students become familiar with the style of the questions.
