Certification mark for non-sewered sanitation system (NSSS) 

Scope:

A non-sewered sanitation system (NSSS) is a prefabricated integrated treatment unit, comprising of frontend (toilet facility) and backend (treatment facility) that:

1. collects, conveys, and fully treats the specific input within the system, to allow for safe reuse or disposal of the generated solid, liquid, and gaseous output, and
2. is not connected to a networked sewer or networked drainage systems.

Basis of certification: 

The certification mark is based on the ISO 30500: 2018 standard. This standard defines general safety and performance requirements for design and testing as well as sustainability considerations.
