EU: REACH candidate list includes 224 SVHCs now

JUNE 2022 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS, HARDLINES, SOFTLINES, TOYS AND CHILDREN'S PRODUCTS

On 10 June 2022, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published the 27th update of the REACH candidate list¹. One (1) new Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) was added. Hence, the total number of entries of SVHCs on the candidate list increases from 223 to 224².

During March and April 2022, ECHA launched a public consultation and proposed one substance to be identified as SVHC. Now, this substance is identified as an SVHC and included in the REACH candidate list. Moreover, resorcinol³ is still pending for being included in the SVHC candidate list, as the European Commission (EC) has not published its decision about this issue yet.

Table A lists the new SVHC included in the 27th update of the Candidate List.
