JUNE 2020 – RELEVANT FOR: ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS, HARDLINES, SOFTLINES, TOYS AND CHILDREN'S PRODUCTS
On 25 June 2020, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published1 the 23rd update of the REACH Candidate List2. Four new Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) were added. Hence, the total number of SVHCs on the Candidate List increases from 205 to 209.
Originally, five substances were proposed during the public consultation. However, Resorcinol3 was not identified as a SVHC as the Member State Committee could not reach a consensus. Hence, this substance is not included in the Candidate List for this round.
Table A gives the substance names, identification numbers (CAS and EC), the reason(s) for inclusion and their potential application(s).
