What is beverage quality assurance?

Beverage quality assurance involves testing of nutrients presence in water and auditing the production process, among other activities. A beverage is usually composed of more than 85% of water and the remaining non-water components include ingredients like sugar, flavouring, sweeteners, colouring etc. Quality control in beverage processing is crucial to detect water contamination which can arise through not just the internal water piping systems but also through the environmental pollution that may have contaminated water source.

Why is beverage testing important?

Various factors, such as temperature, presence of nutrients in water which may lead to growth of microorganisms such as E. coli. and salmonella in the beverages, presence of pollutants in the water and food ingredients like the use of certain additives and preservatives, can affect the taste and drinking quality of the beverages.
