about the course

IECEx is the International Electrotechnical Commission System for certification to standards relating to equipment for use in explosive atmospheres (IECEx System). IECEx system covers Certified Equipment Scheme, Certified Service Facility Scheme and Certified Personnel Scheme (IECEx CoPC). 

IECEx CoPC Scheme provides cross-industry competence for work associated with equipment in hazardous areas. 

This course provides the means for individuals to enroll in an IECEx certification course and obtain an IECEx Certificate of Personnel Competence (CoPC) along with an IECEx Ex Facility Orientation Certificate (EFOC). The aim is to instill confidence within the international Ex community that participants are equipped to carry out work or provide services in strict accordance with the technical and quality system requirements of the IECEx Certification of Personnel Competence Scheme. Successful candidates will receive an EFOC, CoPC, and a Wallet ID card upon achieving satisfactory results in the assessment.

• Unit Ex 000: Basic knowledge and awareness to enter a site that includes a classified hazardous area
• Unit Ex 001: Apply basic principles of protection in explosive atmospheres

• Candidate who wish to build their competency by further pursuing IECEx 05 modules that required pre-requisite of Unit Ex 001
• Stakeholders dealing with equipment or processes in hazardous area that require basic understanding of explosion protection that include industries such as Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Processing facilities (e.g. wood mill, construction, chemical) and Underground coalmines
