  The IATF Rules 6th Edition will be fully implemented starting January 1, 2025. On this date:

  • The 6th Edition will officially replace the 5th Edition.

  • All sanctioned interpretations and frequently asked questions (FAQs) related to the 5th Edition will become obsolete.
  • Organisations must align their processes with the new requirements by this deadline.

  The key requirements for IATF 16949 certification include:

• How long does the IATF 16949 certification process take?

  The duration of the audit for the IATF 16949 certification process varies for each organisation. After the audit, the TÜV SÜD assessor will submit the audit report to the organisation within a maximum of 15 calendar days.

  If the assessor identifies a non-conformity, the organisation must address it within a maximum of 60 calendar days, after which the review process will resume. Overall, the technical review will issue a certification decision within 120 calendar days from the last day of the audit.

• How often is recertification required for IATF 16949?

  IATF 16949 certification is valid for three years, requiring recertification after that.
