TÜV SÜD Japan, local subsidiary of TÜV SÜD – a globally acclaimed German safety and quality expert, hosted two days events on August 29 to 30, in celebration of its 30th anniversary. The second day’s event featured a panel discussion for partners titled “Celebrating 30 years of People Power: NURTURING TALENT, INSPIRING SUCCESS”.

TÜV SÜD Japan was established in 1993 as the Japanese subsidiary of TÜV SÜD, the largest third-party certification organization in Germany, and celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. A third-party certification body is an organization that can audit and certify products, processes, and organizations for compliance with standards. TÜV SÜD Japan offers a various services including testing, certification, auditing, management system certification, and training for a wide range of industries: including medical devices, industrial equipment, electrical and electronic equipment, food, and automobiles, with a focus on safety, security, and sustainability.
TÜV SÜD Japan celebrated its 30th anniversary on Tuesday, August 29 and Wednesday, August 30, 2023, with a ceremony for employees and partners on the first day and a panel discussion event for partners on the second day.
The event was titled "Celebrating 30 years of People Power: NURTURING TALENT, INSPIRING SUCCESS" and was hosted by Dr. Lucas Witoslawski (COO, German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan) as moderator, Mr. Nikolaus Boltze (Country Representative for Japan, South-Korea and Australia, thyssenkrupp), Ms. Haruko Kawashima (Founder & CEO, Institute of Women’s Leadership Inc.), Mr. Michele Guarnieri (Co-founder & CEO, hibot Corporation), and Mr. Ishan Palit (COO, TÜV SÜD AG) as panelists.
In his opening speech, Dr. Johannes Bussmann (CEO, TÜV SÜD AG) said, "We are facing a host of changes great and small – in the worlds of politics and business, in technology and society, and in our work. We now hold in our hands the possibility of shaping a future worth living. To reach this goal, we need to motivate as many people as possible – starting with our own company and our own employees." emphasizing that human resources are the company's assets.
Mr. Andrea Coscia (President & Representative Director, TÜV SÜD Japan) added, "The scarcity of talents is a challenge that force us to transform. We must draw a new path where leaders, people, and organizations converge to create an ecosystem of growth. Leaders attract talents. In other words and in a negative sense, talents are not present where leadership is weak." he said, conveying the significance of the panel discussion.
The panel discussion featured insights from five panelists with diverse backgrounds, and the moderator concluded, "Job attract talents when it give them a “sense of purpose”. TÜV SÜD, for example, has a mission to make society's environment safer. This kind of social significance is an important factor that people look for in a job."
