Meeting Safety Standards in Singapore
The Singapore Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Registration Scheme or CPS Scheme is administered by Enterprise Singapore, the designated Safety Authority since 1991 by Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) under the Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations.
The Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations (CPSR) requires 33 categories of household products, also known as Controlled Goods, to be registered with Enterprise Singapore. These products need to be tested to specified safety standards, approved by designated third party conformity assessment Body (CAB) and affixed with the SAFETY Mark before they can be sold in Singapore.
