China: New compulsory product certification standard for switches and control equipment

On 13 November 2023, the Chinese Certification and Accreditation Administration issued an Announcement to change the compulsory standard for switches and control equipment.

Since 1 March 2024, GB/T 7251.2 - 2023 for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies: Power switchgear and controlgear assemblies, will be the new mandatory product certification standard for switches and control equipment, replacing Standard GB/T 7251.12-2013.

Manufacturers of power switches and control equipment should apply for mandatory CCC certification update in accordance with Compulsory Product Certification (CCC) Self-declaration Implementation Requirements (Announcement No. 4, 2021).
