ABOUT THE EXAMINATION

Considered to be the biggest sector in the world in terms of dollar value, the oil & gas industry is a global powerhouse employing hundreds of thousands of workers worldwide as well as generating hundreds of billions of dollars globally each year. In regions which house the major NOCs, these oil & gas companies are so vital they often contribute a significant amount towards national GDP.

QA/QC is the combination of quality assurance, the process or set of processes used to measure and assure the quality of a product, and quality control, the process of ensuring products and services meet consumer expectations. Quality assurance is process oriented and focuses on defect prevention, while quality control is product oriented and focuses on defect identification.

Nondestructive testing or non-destructive testing (NDT) is a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and technology industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage.

PREREQUISITES

  • Candidate should have attended minimum of 120 working hours of class room training
  • Diploma or Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering or Bachelor in Technology
  • Professional with minimum one year of experience in related field

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Inspection of primary secondary process and in-service damages
  • Analyzing structural discontinuities in various materials
  • Analyzing inherent discontinuities
  • Perform process-oriented prevention to achieve quality of product
  • Perform product-oriented detection process
  • Able to handle international codes and standards used in mechanical industry
  • Perform welding inspection and remedies to achieve quality welding products
  • Perform NDT methods like visual testing, penetrant testing, ultrasonic and radio-graphic testing
  • Able to supervise pipe fabrication and fittings
  • Review different piping-oriented diagrams
  • Report making for specified projects
  • Procedure preparation for inspection, welding and piping fabrication
  • KNOW- HOW of QA/QC related records

EXAMINATION DETAILS

Duration: 75 minutes for MCQ and 60 minutes of practical exam including viva voce

Pattern: Each certification candidate is required to pass all the three-part of examination as follows -

  • Part 1 Theory Examination
  • Part 2 Practical / Assessment
  • Part 3 Viva Examination
