MTCTE Regulatory update

On July 1, 2024, the Department of Telecommunication (DoT), has recently announced the extension on the implementation date of 5 products notified under Phase-III, IV, and V of MTCTE regime namely as Smart Electricity Meter, Satellite Communication Equipment, Base Station for Cellular Network for 5G, Hypervisor, and IP Terminal until 01st Oct 2024. However, it implies that the latest implementation date for major products like IP Routers, LAN Switches, IP Security Equipment, Radio Broadcast Receiver (RBR) is still 01st Aug 2024.

Additionally, the last date for acceptance of ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) reports from non-border sharing nations for technical parameters of Base Station for Cellular Network (up to 4G), SIM, VHF UHF Radio Equipment System, Base Station for Cellular Network for 5G, and E-band Fixed Radio Relay Systems also been extended by 2 months till 30th Sept 2024.
