Learn how robust testing & consultation can mitigate health and environmental risks
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are synthetic chemicals commonly used in the textile and leather industries due to their water-repellent, stain-resistant, and durable properties. However, PFAS are often referred to as "forever chemicals" because they are highly persistent in the environment and have been linked to adverse health effects.
PFAS can be found in a wide range of consumer products, including food packaging, textiles and fashion apparel and children’s products due to their water, stain and oil-repellent properties.
Studies have shown that human exposure to PFAS through contaminated groundwater water, soil, food packaging and other sources, are causing concern globally. Moreover, PFAS exposure is also known to be associated with adverse health effects, such as liver damage, thyroid disease, hormone suppression and cancer.
To address these concerns, our expert practitioner will delve into these key aspects and extend his insights through a complimentary webinar, covering an overall landscape of PFAS and how a robust testing & consultation plan can help in mitigating health and environmental risks.
