Testing and Inspection services for exporting Grapes

testing and INSPECTION services for exporting grapes across the globe

According to Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), India is one of the world’s leading exporters of grapes with more than a dozen different varieties commercially available. Grapes testing and inspection includes an end-to-end system for controlling and monitoring pesticide residues in grapes from farm to retailer, with the goal of achieving compliance with the maximum residue limits (MRLs) for more than 200 different pesticides and require AGMARK inspection (Grading) applicable in the European Union (EU) and other countries.

APEDA’s “Procedures for Export of Fresh Table Grapes to the European Union,” documents the detailed requirements applicable to grape farmers and pack houses who intend to export their grape harvests. In brief, the system that is described in this comprehensive document consists of registration of grape farms, define responsibilities of farmers, growers and exporters, sampling of grape farms, certification procedure and accreditation & responsibilities of authorised laboratories.

Why is grapes testing and inspection important?

The usage of various pesticides, stringent regulations and change in MRL make export more challenging. Grapes testing ensures meeting country regulatory requirements and delivery of quality products for exporters. A Certificate of Authorisation and a Certificate of Agmark Grading is issued only upon receipt of an inspection report from the testing laboratory by the appropriate authority before issue of the Phyto Sanitary Certificate (PSC).

TESTING AND INSPECTION of exporting grapes provides your organisation with multiple benefits:

  • Manage risk: by ensuring compliance with MRL and all the parameter.
  • Shorten time to market: with the help of our sophisticated infrastructure and advance knowledge of regulations.
  • Safeguard reputation and cost: arising from rejection of your product during export.
  • Enjoy an expert partnership: by working with our team of highly skilled chemists and microbiologists.
  • inspire confidence: by ensuring your products comply with international standards, you inspire greater confidence in your buyer.
