Automated Driving
A Confernce by TUM and TÜV SÜD

Autonomous driving will be a game changer in future mobility. First real-world laboratories on public roads, such as the Wiesn Shuttle 2024, are already demonstrating how autonomous vehicles can contribute to public transport. Autonomous shuttles already appear possible in confined areas.
Despite the progress made in automated driving, the reliable and safe scaling of automated vehicles to larger operating areas and the robust algorithms required for this task remain a challenge for science and industry. The rapid development of AI with more comprehensive models also presents exciting opportunities.
Along with the technical requirements for autonomous vehicles, questions about potential commercial applications and business models remain relevant. In addition to vehicles, the modular and end-to-end approaches are two established solutions for autonomous driving. Simulations can also be used to make the validation process more reproducible and explainable.
At the next Automated Driving Conference, the focus will be on concepts and approaches that have already been implemented, as well as experience reports on designing these new technologies and implementing an automated vehicle fleet in the near future.
