Training course for boiler operators of historic steam boiler systems
Seminar with theory and practice

Operating and maintaining historic steam generators such as locomotives or traction engines is a highly interesting but also demanding task with an increased risk of danger. Boiler attendants must have an excellent knowledge of the physical and chemical processes involved in operating steam boiler systems, as well as being thoroughly familiar with the different types of boiler and their equipment and the applicable safety regulations. The normative framework is provided by § 12 (3) of the German Industrial Safety Regulation and its requirements for the use of work equipment involving particular hazards. The employer must take the necessary measures to ensure that the use of the work equipment is reserved for ‘commissioned employees’ (boiler attendants).
