ABOUT THE COURSE

The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management provides learners with a sound breadth of knowledge and understanding which will enable them to contribute to the management of process safety risks. This qualification is designed to equip learners with a broad understanding of the accepted principles and recognised industrial practices for the management of process risk. This will ensure that they can recognise and contribute to the control process of safety hazards.

WHAT IS THE COURSE METHODOLOGY?

The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management is a 4-days course that can be delivered either in a classroom (face-to-face) or online (virtual) format and includes one NEBOSH assessment. The course includes a variety of training tools such as digital learning, tests, and other interactive exercises to enhance delivery of theoretical knowledge.

HOW IS THIS COURSE ASSESSED?

The qualification has one unit assessment: a 90 minute online multiple-choice assessment. The question paper consists of 40 multiple-choice questions; 10 of which are extended scenario questions. Each question is worth one mark and has one correct and three incorrect responses available. The question paper covers the whole syllabus with at least one question per element. All questions are compulsory. It is a closed-book assessment, so you will not be able to refer to your course book and notes. You must achieve a ‘pass’ (60% or higher) to be awarded the qualification.

Assessments are taken after completion of the course learning. Assessments are held monthly, with the assessment being available for a 24-hour period. You will be able to start your assessment at any time during this 24-hour window but will have 90 minutes in total to complete your assessment.

• Exam date: Assessment is as per NEBOSH standard exam date (once a month)
• Exam results: Results will be received within 15 working days
• Certification:
  • Certificate of Successful Completion: NEBOSH Certificate will be awarded only to the participants who completed all parts of the assessment within 20 working days of the result date.
  • Certificate of Attendance: TÜV SÜD Certificate will be awarded if the participants completed the full number of tuition hours for the training course, in preparation for the NEBOSH assessment.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THE COURSE?

It is designed for people who work in process industries such as oil and gas refining, chemicals, plastics and pharmaceuticals manufacturing. It is suitable for managers, supervisors, safety representatives and health and safety advisors working within the process industries, both inside and outside the UK. It is not designed for chemical and process safety engineers experienced in the specification, design and maintenance of process plants.
