Assessment & Certification
- Assessment format: all learners should be assessed in two ways
- Assessment type: Knowledge and comprehension (30 questions), Practical application of learning (Workplace Risk Assessment)
- Duration: 45 minutes (Knowledge and comprehension), No time limit but with mentioned deadline to submit (Practical application of learning)
- Passing criteria: Participants must achieve a minimum overall score of 60 marks to pass the exam successfully
- Exam mode: Paper-based exam on the last day of course and workplace risk assessment after the course with specified deadline
Certification:
- Certificate of Successful Completion: Will be awarded only if a minimum overall score of 60 marks is achieved in both assessments.
- Certificate of Attendance: Will be awarded only if the attendance requirements are satisfied and if the participant is unsuccessful in the assessments.

What is the mode of the training?
The IOSH Managing Safely training can be executed in either mode, classroom or virtual.
Is VILT a live training, or do I get access to watch pre-recorded videos?
Pre-recorded videos are not available or permitted. This is a live virtual instructor-led training (VILT) session where you can interact with the trainer.
Can the dates of the training be customized?
The training dates are published in advance, although you may let us know your preferred dates for exclusive training mail us at [email protected].

Paper-based exam on the last day of course and workplace risk assessment after the course with specified deadline.
What is the duration of the examination?
45 minutes (Knowledge and comprehension), No time limit but with mentioned deadline to submit (Practical application of learning).
How are participants assessed during the course?
Knowledge and comprehension: Paper-based exam on the last day of course.
What is the passing criterion for a written examination?
Participants must achieve at least 36 out of 60 to pass the Knowledge and comprehension assessment and at least 23 out of 38 for the Practical application of learning. With both combined, participants must achieve a minimum overall score of 60 marks to pass the exam successfully.
Will I be awarded a certificate for attending the training course?
- Certificate of Successful Completion: Will be awarded only if a minimum overall score of 60 marks is achieved in both assessments.
- Certificate of Attendance: Will be awarded only if the attendance requirements are satisfied and if the participant is unsuccessful in the assessments.
