A TÜV SÜD certification mark enables you to secure a competitive edge, and to demonstrate it to the outside world. By displaying these globally recognised certification marks on your products, packaging, website and advertisements, you highlight the outstanding quality or functional features of your products, giving you a critical competitive advantage over your rivals.
It is important to use the TÜV SÜD certification marks in the right way and the correct graphic version. The TÜV SÜD Testing and Certification Regulations state that:
A certification mark may only be used in advertising products for which a valid certificate exists. Advertising featuring the certification mark must be immediately discontinued when the certification expires, is revoked or withdrawn.
The certificate defines issues including the certification mark to be used, the products and models certified and the certificate holder who is authorised to use the mark. For example, only kettles with the certified model designation “Green” are entitled to display the certification mark; a non-certified “Blue” model, even if identical in design and construction, may not apply the mark.
Certification marks must not be used in a misleading manner. Particular care must be taken that the certification mark is used only in direct connection with the certified product and that the mark is clearly obvious as such.
The 3D versions should be used whenever possible. The 2D versions in black/white are only to be used when the use of the 3D versions is not possible due to technical or graphical reasons (for example, very small labels).
As a TÜV SÜD customer you are entitled to use TÜV SÜD certification marks in your advertising. Testing and GS (“Safety Tested”) marks of other testing institutes and TÜV companies are not interchangeable.
Infringement of the Testing and Certification Regulations may, in extreme cases, result in fines of up to EUR 50,000.
