WHAT IS STANDARD DEVELOPMENT?

The proliferation of low-quality products hampers water utilities, suppliers, manufacturers, system integrators and end-users worldwide. In many areas, there is no indication of quality let alone any regulation regarding the minimum quality and performance requirements of a product, process or service. Beyond making purchase decisions complicated and time-consuming, this lack of standards increases the chance of choosing a low-quality product, which may increase the probability of project failure. With standard development, existing guidelines / regulations would not call for government organisations or private companies calling for tenders to specify their own minimum requirements.

We also develop TÜV SÜD certificates for new products and provide testing and certification of products according to these certificates.

DEVELOPMENT OF TÜV SÜD CERTIFICATES

Based on screening of relevant standards and a thorough analysis of the specific requirements, an in-depth gap analysis is conducted. As a next step, existing standards can either be adapted to the specific requirements or additional criteria and testing procedures can be applied to guarantee the product’s quality. After this rigorous internal process, the TÜV SÜD certificate is established.

TESTING AND CERTIFICATION

TÜV SÜD certifies products according to the established TÜV SÜD certificates. This can be conducted either in one of our own testing facilities or in an accredited external laboratory.
