For close to 160 years since 1866, sustainability, security and safety continue to be the backbone of TÜV SÜD’s mission and services. We work progressively towards being the trusted partner of choice for safety, security and sustainability solutions, adding tangible value to our clients globally, thereby enabling a safer and sustainable future.

In 2024, we achieved accreditation for the testing and certification of H2 generation systems. The acquisition of FRST Corp, bolstered our capability in supporting businesses to reduce CO₂ emissions and offset unavoidable emissions.

2023 - INVESTING IN A DIGITAL and sustainable FUTURE

In 2023, TÜV SÜD established a new standard for the certification of low carbon hydrogen and blue hydrogen and the first testing method for the homologation of automated vehicles to SAE Levels 4 and 5, with a focus on urban environments.

In 2022, TÜV SÜD invested in new safety testing facilities in United Kingdom, United States, India
and Thailand while achieving Platinum status in the EcoVadis sustainability rating.

In 2021, TÜV SÜD invested in a hydrogen lab in Germany and electric vehicle testing labs in the United States and China. In the same year, TÜV SÜD @ IBP in Singapore was inaugurated, the first significant real estate investment outside Germany.

2019 - Further expansion

In 2019, TÜV SÜD inaugurated testing labs for electric vehicle batteries in China, Germany and United States. A new centre of excellence for subsea pipelines in United Kingdom was also launched.

In 2018, TÜV SÜD launched a digital academy in India and Singapore and new labs in Canada, USA, India and Vietnam. In the same year, the corporate claim was changed to "Add value. Inspire trust." 

2016 - Global Growth

2016 marks the celebration of TÜV SÜD's 150th anniversary along with the acquisition of ATISAE in Spain and launch of two Digital Service Centres of Excellence in Germany and Singapore.
