The certification mark applies to products which primarily involve chemical hazards, including rubber car floor mats. These products are tested for hazardous substances.
The certification mark is awarded within the framework of voluntary testing and certification. Certification is based on product-specific standards and test programmes.
The tests are based on various directives and standards including (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH Regulation on the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals), AfPS GS 2019:01 PAH on the testing and evaluation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning persistent organic pollutants (POPs).

The testing of mechanical household products that come into contact with food is also based on Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 (on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food) and Regulation (EU) No. 1935/2004 (on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food).
The product has been certified by the third-party expert organisation of TÜV SÜD Product Service. Within the scope of certification, products which primarily involve chemical requirements were subjected to goods inspection by TÜV SÜD Product Service and fulfilled the following criteria:
For the statement “Toxic tested”, TÜV SÜD tested the product for hazardous substances and verified that any harmful substances present in the product complied with or remained under the relevant limits. The test is based on legal requirements, with TÜV SÜD defining even stricter criteria in some cases.
Product-specific chemical requirements and further requirements from the TÜV SÜD test programme are used for testing. They are identified on the certificate in question.
