This policy aims to strengthen digital infrastructure, improve spectrum efficiency, and accelerate the adoption of 4G and 5G technologies.

Key Transition Dates

• November 30, 2025: Importation and type approvals for devices that support only 2G or only 3G will be prohibited.
• December 31, 2028: Complete nationwide shutdown of 2G networks.
• December 31, 2030: Final sunset of all 3G networks across Eswatini.
